Threats and Intimidation from the Embassy Staff and Mr. Harzani

We, the members of the Moroccan American Community Development Organization (MACDO), condemn the intimidation and the threat that our members were subjected to during the embassy meeting with Mr. Harzani on June 05, 2008.

As we all know, the purpose of the meeting was to meet with Mr. Harzani, who was responsible for creating the consultative council for Moroccans living abroad, a council that MACDO currently does not recognize.

Some officers of MACDO attended the meeting to express their members’ views regarding the undemocratic way in which Mr. Harzani chose members of the council.

Before the meeting started, the guest, Mr. Harzani, approached our members who were holding signs of protest such as “Mr. Harzani you AR not welcome”, “Mr. Harzani you are anti-democracy”, etc.
